Omar Itani

Omar Itani is a musician, sound practitioner, and coordinator at Irtijal festival in Beirut, Lebanon. He has a bachelor degree in communication arts (radio and television), graduating from the American University of Science and Technology. His background in music production steered his focus to the sound in film, working as a sound recordist, sound designer and scoring music. The latest of his contributions in that field was the music of Haig Aivazian’s short film You May Own the Lanterns, But We Have The Light.

In parallel to sound production, Omar has been active recently within the experimental music scene, both as a performer and an organizer. He developed an urge to explore the adventurous side of soundscaping, mostly using synthesizers and electronics. In late 2021, he started working with Irtijal Festival as a coordinator, one of the first experimental music festivals in the region.
